Literature and Culture has been connected to each other since time immortal and language being the bridge between both of them, sharing legacy of values, varieties and vastness. Language  has evolved over time with  culture and both of them cumulatively also affected the discourse of Literature. Nalanda as a geography is deeply rooted in it’s cultural values and so in it’s linguistic integrity. From Art, Astronomy to Architecture Nalanda has not just influenced it’s people but also attracted travellers like Hiuen Tsang (Xuanzang) , I-Tsing (Yi Jing) , Fa-Hien (Faxian) across the subcontinent.

Author and IFS Officer “ABHAY K.” has also written that “ Nalanda Mahavihara played a key role in the spread of these Nalanda-grown philosophies across South, Central, East and South-East Asia, shaping the cultural and religious perspective of the people in the countries of these regions”.1

This Cultural Legacy of Nalanda is now taking ahead by NALANDA LITERATURE FESTIVAL with contemporary thoughts and cohesive engagements. It’s preserving the essence of ancient culture and blending it with the realm of contemporary ideas.
